Therapeutic Approach
Pluralistic psychotherapy offers an overall holistic and collaborative approach to therapy. It puts emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and championing the client’s ability to know themselves and their uniqueness. It is rooted in the philosophy that many different things can be helpful to support a client in distress.
My approach is holistic which involves listening to my client’s story and drawing upon a range of different therapeutic methods including but not limited to Person Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have also trained in Mindfulness, Meditation and Bereavement and Loss counselling. If appropriate to the client’s needs other ways may be incorporated into the therapy for example use of nature, art, timelines, genograms.
